ABOUT 

We act as a point of contact for drama clubs and individuals within Edinburgh District, offering them advice, encouragement, and practical support.

Our main role is the Organisation of the Annual One Act Festival's for our District normally held in February of each year

Edinburgh District covers Edinburgh, East, Mid and West Lothian and all Scottish Borders and has a 15 clubs and a number of individual members .

                                                          

The district is one of four districts within the Eastern Division. The others being Falkirk, Fife & Stirling

We are part of the larger Scottish Community Drama Association (SCDA).

Operating as Scottish Community Drama as it's public facing name. This was formed in 1926 to further amateur drama throughout Scotland with particular emphasis on rural communities where no theatre existed.

In 2022 we rebranded to become the Scottish Community Drama (SCD) with a new logo and brand identity

The National Office based in Stirling acts as a central hub, providing advice and supporting the network of clubs and members, encouraging playwriting, providing an advisory service on all aspects of theatre, and organising a range of training workshops and festivals. There are four divisions, Northern, Highland, Eastern and Western.
